Wheelers Hill Primary School OSHC Program

Established in 1996 by a dedicated group of parents, the Wheelers Hill Primary School Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) program was created to support working families by providing reliable, high-quality care for children.

Our vision is to provide the best outcomes for children. We believe that all children deserve a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment where they can grow, learn, and thrive. Our program aligns with this philosophy by offering care that is tailored to the needs of each child, fostering both their developmental and social growth.

We welcome children from all backgrounds, including those with special needs, ensuring an inclusive and supportive environment for every child. We offer care before school, after school, on non-teaching days, and during school holidays, with activities designed to meet the developmental needs, interests, and individual requirements of primary school-aged children. Breakfast and afternoon tea are provided every day, excluding curriculum days and vacation care.

Key Features of Our OSHC Program:

  • Inclusive and Supportive Environment: We welcome children from diverse backgrounds and with special needs, ensuring every child is supported and included.

  • Developmentally Appropriate Programs: Activities are tailored to the developmental stages and interests of children, fostering growth in a fun, engaging way.

  • Relaxed Social Learning: We provide a relaxed and enjoyable space where children can interact, learn, and develop social skills.

  • Positive Relationships: We promote warm, friendly relationships between staff, children, and parents. Respect for one another and the school community is fundamental to our program.

  • Encouraging Responsibility: Children are encouraged to take responsibility for themselves and others, fostering a sense of community and respect.

  • Quality Assurance & National Standards: Our program complies with Quality Assurance and National Standards, ensuring the highest level of care and safety.

  • Program Integration with School Activities: We ensure that our OSHC program complements and enhances the activities and philosophy of Wheelers Hill Primary School.

  • Safety First: The safety and well-being of all children is our top priority, with careful attention given to all aspects of the program.

  • Aligned with School Policies: Our program adheres to the Wheelers Hill Primary School’s welfare and discipline policies, as well as the specific OSHC program policies outlined in our policy handbook.

The policies and procedures governing the OSHC program are reviewed annually by the Parent Sub-Committee, Staff, and the School Principal to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with best practices.
