REFLECTION 2014/FUTURE 2015
The end of the year is here and we have many plans in place for the 2015 school year. It is such a busy time in everyone’s life, but also a time when we can reflect on the achievements and events of 2014. It was particularly pleasing to listen to our Year 6 students reminisce about their years at Wheelers Hill Primary School that they shared during their Graduation Ceremony on Tuesday night.
There is much to look forward to in 2015 as our population increases to over 500 students, new teachers join us, existing programs and the creation of new projects that will enrich student learning for next year and beyond.
We can certainly feel proud of the following accomplishments during 2014;
- Parents’ Association Welcome evening night
- Harmony Day
- Year 5 and 6 Canberra Study Tour
- WHPS Athletics Carnival
- Refurbishment of 2 rooms in Building B
- Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal
- Year 4 Camp
- Education Week - Open Day/Evening
- Prep Discovery sessions
- Numerous Fundraising events
- Installation of window coverings in the Early Years Centre
- Removal of concrete, ramps and old rebound wall
- Our wonderful whole school production of ‘Beatlemania’
We still have many things that are a priority for our ever-evolving and growing school as we embrace the 21st Century learning opportunities. We must direct our focus and funds into the following areas;
- ICT updating
- Play equipment and play areas
- Air conditioning replacement
Thank you to all our families for the support that you have given to our school during 2014. We look forward to your continued support in 2015 so together we can provide the best educational setting and learning opportunities for your children at Wheelers Hill Primary School.
